Salvatore Sorbello, Psychologist

Salvatore Sorbello is a registered Psychologist and has been working at Gymea Lily Psychotherapy Centre since 2009.

Salvatore worked as an English and Drama teacher for many years in Sydney high schools before retraining as a psychologist at Charles Sturt University (Graduate Diploma in Psychology) and at the University of Western Sydney (Post Graduate Diploma in Psychology) in 2003. As well as qualifications in psychology, Salvatore has a Graduate Diploma in Philosophy and a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Philosophy from Macquarie University. He has a special interest in Existential philosophy.

Salvatore completed his two year registration programme whilst working as a school counsellor. Salvatore has completed additional professional development courses in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapies, and the Triple P parenting program. He is an advocate of a positive psychology approach that recognizes and builds on a client’s competencies, resources, and strengths. Salvatore provides individual and couples counselling to adult clients.
