One of the deepest animated films, showing what the “rat race” really means. 🎬 Happiness by Steve Cutts is a short animated film that uses rats as a metaphor for people to critique modern society’s obsession with wealth, consumerism, and social status. Through its story, the film portrays how many spend their lives chasing possessions, career achievements, and short-term pleasures in the belief that these will lead to fulfillment—only to become stuck in a never-ending cycle of wanting more. Its message suggests that genuine happiness doesn’t come from constant consumption or external approval, but from stepping away from this endless pursuit. Created largely as an independent project, Happiness was brought to life by @steve_cutts_official using hand-drawn digital 2D animation, advanced software tools, expressive visual storytelling, and classical music instead of dialogue to strengthen its impact.
