An introduction to the Group Matrix, in particular the Matrix Representational Grid (MRG). A group analytical concept and tool used to better understand the unconscious dynamic forces in place when working with Psychotherapy groups.

This talk covers an introduction to psychodynamic psychotherapy, and the psychoanalytic principles that underly this work. It summarises the scientific basis for the efficacy of longer-term treatment in this modality and for whom and why it works. As quick fixes and technical solutions rarely work in sufficient depth to last beyond the present mood, it aims to demonstrate how personality change can in fact be effected with this relationship based treatment.

With most health professionals who need help choosing psychoanalytic treatment, it is important that we all are aware of what psychodynamic psychotherapy can offer and how it works.
